You've reached Upstairs
Indian classical music, without the gatekeeping.
Baithaks in living rooms. Immersives that decode the music. Lectures that answer the questions you've always had. Workshops where you learn to listen differently. Music that makes you feel.
An evening of Carnatic instrumental by Radhika Ramakrishnan
Accompanied by Aditya Singh on tabla and Lalit Sisodia on harmonium

What Even Is Classical Music?

Here's how it works!
Every month, we host two baithaks at home; one on a weekday, one on a weekend. We also do a two-day Immersive (always a weekend) somewhere outside our living room, packed with workshops, lectures, and a baithak as part of the program.
Baithak tickets drop on specific dates. We announce them, you grab them. That's it. Immersive tickets? They're live the whole time—from the moment they go up, all the way through to walk-ins on the day itself.
PS: This is the general rule of thumb we follow. Life does get in the way from time to time though!

Upstairs is intimate and intentional by design.
Every gathering comes together with active effort from everyone involved. Good music thrives with our active contribution in time, money, effort, attention and presence. We're expanding into bigger collaborations and new cities. But intimacy isn't negotiable. You'll stay in the loop through event updates, behind-the-scenes stories, and essays about what we're building. If you'd like to follow along in this journey, sign up below!
